How To PowerPoint

Social Studies and Science PowerPoints

All State Standards that are tested in the 8th grade are my focus in class. Sixth, Seventh and Eighth grade standards are all united in the final State exam for the Eighth Graders. It is important for the Eighth graders to have a review as the year goes on. With this in mind I have created the PowerPoints found on these web pages. Please follow the directions below if you are confused about how to get started.

Each of the California State Content Standards that are tested at the end of the 8th Grade are included in each PowerPoint. The guidelines are all there.

Right Click on the PowerPoint and download it to your computer. Open it and begin following the directions. PLEASE do not make these harder than they are meant to be.

For Instance, the first PowerPoint is a review of a sixth grade standard and is about locations of the Ancient Civilizations.

1. All you need to do is draw one world map and label the continents, not the current political map (not the countries).

2. After you make the copies (10) you will color each civilization and label the major rivers, civilizations and oceans.
3. Part one done, scan and put into the PowerPoint.
4. Then look it over, read the history in the encyclopedia, think about why the civilizations were started in those exact locations.
5. Make a slide with a few key words, fresh water, easy access for trade, nice climate...
6. That is it. Do not over think this and make it too hard to do.
7. This particular PowerPoint should be done in one week.
